Let’s hear it for our Mineral Point FFA Chapter State participants in Madison!

PROFICIENCY WINNERS
State Champion 1st Place Fruit & Nut Production: Henry Chapman’s Supervised Agriculture Experience is based on his work at The Cider Farm. Henry does a variety of work, from harvesting fruit, to controlling pests/weeds, to grafting new trees. This is Henry’s first year applying for this award.
State Champion 1st Place Goat Production Entrepreneurship: Annie Robisnon owns her own herd of commercial and registered Boer goats. Annie has been very successful in her operation raising, showing, and selling several champion show goats at all levels.
State Champion 1st Place Diversified Livestock Production: Johnny Robinson’s Supervised Agriculture Experience is based on his work at A&M Farms. He drives tractor, feeds animals, helps with fitting for shows and helps with the vet care related to the cattle, sheep, and goats.
State Champion Livestock Judging Team: Johnny Robinson, Aiden Patterson, Riley Sennhenn, and Faye Schuette received their award at the State Convention in Madison and will prepare to head to Nationals in Indianapolis at the end of October.
State Runner-Up 2nd Place Forage Production Placement: Ellie Robinson’s Supervised Agriculture Experience is based on her work in forage crop production on A&M farms. Ellie’s duties include raking hay, hauling bales, wrapping hay, and baling small squares of hay.
3rd Place Agricultural Sales: Annie Robinson’s Supervised Agriculture Experience is based on her work at Aspen Ridge. Annie cares for plants, makes arrangements, and helps customers with their purchases.
STATE DEGREE
Earning the highest degree the Wisconsin State FFA Association can bestow is the State FFA degree. Receiving this honor at the fourth general session of the Wisconsin FFA Convention from Mineral Point were: Mallory Gould, Cameron Patterson, and Madelyn Steffes.
STATE DELEGATES
Representing Mineral Point as official delegates for the convention were Aiden Patterson and Emily Heisner. These members voted on important issues, attended workshops, developed leadership skills and voted on the next state officer for our section.
