The Mineral Point School Board held a special meeting Monday night to handle a few matters before the start of classes.
— The Board hired the following positions:
- Gina Weier, Middle School Math Teacher (1st Quarter)
- Nuan Galvan, Middle/High School Food Service
- Ike Campbell, Head Varsity Softball Coach
— The Board approved committee members for an Ad-Hoc Committee for the purpose of exploring improvements in the food service program.
Members include: Kimmy Mumm, Jayne Lindsey, Dr. Sarah Fox, Jenny Bonde, Nicole Bujewski, Kassi Blanchette, Jason Steffes, Scott Mericka, and Will Harris.
The charge of the committee is to assess the current food service program and recommend possible improvements that may include more local purchasing of fruits, vegetables, and meat. There is a 12 month window to work within before bringing a recommendation back to the school board for a three-year plan.
— The next regular meeting of the School Board will be Monday, September 14 at 6 pm.
