Mineral Point High School is excited to announce the next Head Varsity Softball Coach of our defending State Champions — please join us in welcoming Ike Campbell to this position in #PointerNation!
Ike has previous head softball coaching experience at Highland from 2018-2024, which included WIAA Regional Titles in 2018, 2019, and 2023 and being named Six Rivers West Conference Coach of the Year in 2021 and 2023.
He also was an assistant coach at Pecatonica from 2007-2013.
Since 1995, he has been part of the Campbell Organic Farms operation. He also has extensive experience at Highland and Pecatonica as a Special Education Teacher and Aide.
“Coaching has always been about more than wins and losses for me,” said Campbell. “I coach because I love the game of softball and want to instill that same passion in every player I have the privilege to coach. My goal is to create an environment where athletes compete with confidence, play with purpose, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the sport.”
“I believe that when players consistently give their best effort, treat others with respect, and maintain a positive attitude through adversity, success naturally follows, both on and off the field,” he added. “I also believe that building better human beings creates better softball players. While developing athletic skills is important, helping student-athletes become accountable, resilient, respectful, and confident individuals is my greatest responsibility as a coach. I strive to create a culture where players support one another, embrace challenges, and represent their school and community with pride.”
