The 6th Mineral Point Basketball Hall of Fame Class was recently selected.  They will be inducted into Saturday, January 25, 2025 when the Pointer Boys host the Belleville Wildcats for an afternoon contest.  

CAROLYN (KINCH) BOSSERT – CLASS OF 1989

Carolyn was a four year varsity player at Mineral Point.  She was second team All-Conference as a Junior and first team as a Senior.  Carolyn dished out 226 assists in her career, helping to guide the Pointers to one Conference title and one WIAA Regional title.  She ended her career as the all-time leader in assists.

MATT LINDSEY – CLASS OF 1990

Matt was named second team All-Conference as a Junior and first team as a Senior.  He helped to lead the Pointers to two WIAA Regional titles and one Conference title.  A three year varsity player, Matt scored 742 points in his career and pulled down 434 rebounds.  Matt was the 1990 Dodgeville Chronicle All-Area Player of the Year.

BILL MITCHELL – CLASS OF 1978

Bill coached at Mineral Point for 40 years at various levels for both the boys and girls teams, amassing a career record of 478-168.  As an assistant coach, Bill helped to guide the Pointers to nine Conference titles, nine WIAA Regional Championships, one WIAA Sectional Championship, and one State gold ball.  Bill will enter the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame this fall.

CLAIRE POAD – CLASS OF 2009

Claire was a two time SWAL first team All-Conference performer and the 2009 SWAL Player of the Year.  A Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-Star, Claire scored 663 points in her high school career to go along with 272 steals and 162 assists.  She was a four year starter at UW-Platteville.  Claire was the 2009 Dodgeville Chronicle All-Area Player of the Year and Wisconsin State Journal first team All-Area.

SCOTT TERRILL – CLASS OF 1967

Scott still holds the Mineral Point career rebounding record with 743 career rebounds. He had 295 rebounds in 19 games as a Senior (16.3 rebounds per game).  Scott averaged double digit rebounds for three seasons.  He averaged a double-double as a Junior and a Senior. Scott was Capital Times All-Area Honorable Mention for two years.
