Mineral Point School District’s Trap Shooting Team built upon the success it had in the spring and put together another strong showing this fall in the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League.
The Pointers took first place in Class A Conference 2. Second went to Drummond and third to Elmwood.
Individually for males, Owen Stephenson was second in Class A Conference 2 with 19.60 and Jacob Moellers was third with 19.50. Ryan Welsh came in fourth with 19.40, Milo Wong ninth at 18.90 and Kaleb Pilling tenth in the conference with 18.80.
For females, Martina Steffes was second in Class A Conference 2 with 13.10.
Joey Dolphin and Joe Ripp were also recognized for hitting 25 targets in a round.
“In response to the huge growth and demand for the sport in Wisconsin, we developed the fall league to complement our spring competition,” Jim Sable, Executive Director, said. “Parents and students have been so excited about our offering that we expect to see significant growth in Wisconsin’s fastest-growing high school sport this spring.”
