The Mineral Point wrestlers had a banner day at the WIAA Sectional meet held in MP on Saturday, February 20.
All seven Sectional qualifiers placed high enough to advance to the WIAA Individual State Tournament to be held at the Kohl Center in Madison February 25-27.
Scott Pittz placed 1st, Boone and Logan Schmitz 2nd, and Brandon Forseth, Kyle Juedes, Danny Pittz, and Riley Workman 3rd.

As Sectional Champion, Scott Pittz won’t wrestle until Friday morning at 11:15 in the quarterfinal. The 170 lb. senior (41-1) will await the winner of Jed Schlegel, Spring Valley/Elmwood (31-5) Sr. and Marshall Westfall, Athens (39-4) So.
Mineral Point has produced the most individual championships with 50. Stoughton and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln are next with 44, and then Milwaukee South with 39. Others with significant totals are Luxemburg-Casco with 35, Athens with 32 and Coleman with 29.
