Mineral Point High School is excited to announce its next Head Varsity Football Coach — please join us in welcoming Chad Whitford to this position!
Chad has been a longtime football program assistant in #PointerNation. He is currently the Streets Foreman in the City of Mineral Point and a member of the Mineral Point Fire Department, including former Chief for 15 years.
Since 2012, Chad has assisted our high school football team in the following capacities:
— Varsity Offensive and Defensive Line Coach
— Special Teams Coordinator
— Head JV Coach and Offensive Coordinator
During this time, Chad earned the title of 2023 SWAL Assistant Coach of the Year and helped guide the Pointers to 12 straight WIAA Playoff appearances and three SWAL Conference Championships.
From 2003-2011, he served as a coach of the Mineral Point Youth Football Team, the Mud Dogs.
Chad is looking forward to leading our high school football program focused on athletic excellence, student development, and team success.
“High school football should provide a positive experience that prepares students for life beyond graduation,” said Whitford. “My goal is to increase participation, strengthen pride in being a Mineral Point Football player, and help make the program something truly special again. I believe in the future of Mineral Point Football and am committed to contributing to its continued growth and success.”
