The two day conference had workshops and tours for members to attend to increase their business knowledge, as well as compete in their business events.  Members in attendance heard from keynote speaker Patty Hendrickson about the impact we have on those around us in her presentation, “FBLA: A Legacy of Leadership – What’s Your Legacy?”

While at the conference, members were able to make connections with business leaders while touring facilities like Lambeau Field, Houdini Museum, Fox Valley Technical College, Performing Arts Center, Barlow Planetarium, Timber Rattler Stadium, Trout Museum, Lawrence University, VF Outdoors, Woodward Radio, Willems Marketing,  Schenck Associates, Miron Construction, and School Specialty.

Also at the conference, students raised over $2,000 for the March of Dimes through a Miracle Minute.  Workshops were offered for students to attend when not on a business tour or competing in an event.  Workshop choices included:  “Sit Up! Stand Up! Step Up! – Build & Bring Your Best Leadership” with keynote speaker Patty Hendrickson, “Mission Impact” with FBLA North Central Region Vice President Hattie Kruschek, “Leadership” by US Army ROTC Lt. Colonel Beattle, “Young Professionals in the Workplace” sponsored by Michels Corporation, and “Community Involvement”  sponsored by US Ventures Inc.   In addition, members participated in a scavenger hunt using an app called Goose Chase where they could complete fun missions and compete against other schools for prizes.

While at the conference students were able to show their participation in events and earn badges by tracking their attendance at tours, workshops and events.  State Leadership Conference was a great learning experience for the Mineral Point FBLA members.
