At a brief special meeting Monday night, the Mineral Point School Board certified two levies for the 2018-19 school year, contingent on the outcome of the November 6 elementary building referendum vote. Either a pass or fail vote will produce a mill rate drop. (Keep scrolling past the video for more article text)

The first scenario passed by the board is if the November 6 building referendum fails. The mill rate would drop to $10.22, down from $12.09 last year. To see details of this levy, click here: Option 1

The second scenario passed by the board is if the November 6 building referendum is successful. The mill rate would drop to $11.33, down from $12.09 last year. To see details of this levy, click here: Option 2

Both scenarios were passed unanimously 5-0 with Board Treasurer Larry Steffes absent.

The November 6 operational referendum question would not be levied until the 2019-20 school year, thus it is not included in this year’s levy.

The Board also approved both sets of proposed budget amendments unanimously.

The next regularly scheduled meeting is set for Monday, November 12 at 6:30 pm.
