The Mineral Point School Board held its regular monthly meeting Monday evening.

— The Board recognized the following accomplishments:
— WI School Public Relations Association Spectrum Awards
— All-State Volleyball

— The Board unanimously approved (with Bergstrom, Harris, and Johnston absent) the consent agenda consisting of minutes, bills payable, credit card statement, and committee reports.

— The Board reviewed the upcoming School Board election timeline. (Go to the six minute mark)
— The Board heard an update on the WI Department of Public Instruction School Report Cards for the 2024-25 school year that were released in November, as well as an ACT Test data report. (Go to the seven minute, 15 second mark)
— Superintendent Mitch Wainwright provided his monthly budget update. (Go to the 35 minute, 30 second mark)
— The Board held a first reading of the following policies. They will be brought back for a vote at a future meeting:

- Policy 620 Annual Operating Budget
- Policy 651 Revenues from Tax and Non-Tax Sources

— The Board unanimously approved (with Harris and Johnston absent) the budget amendments as presented due to Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR) codes changing.

— The Board unanimously approved (with Harris and Johnston absent) an updated safety plan — in addition to our own district plan, there is also a uniform plan amongst schools in Iowa County.

— The Board unanimously approved (with Johnston absent) the hiring of Dawn Miess as a Middle School Instructional Assistant beginning January 20.
