Our Mineral Point High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the 69th Annual FBLA State Leadership Conference held in Green Bay at the KI Center on April 17th and 18th. The two day conference had workshops and tours for members to attend to increase their business knowledge as well as compete in their business events.

Upon our arrival in Green Bay on Sunday, April 16th, our chapter toured Lambeau Field and Packers Hall of Fame. We had a great time on our tour and learned a lot about what makes the Green Bay Packers a legendary organization and why Lambeau Field is filled with fans for Packer home games. After a great day and night of fun activities, we were ready for the conference to kick off on Monday morning!

Griffin Albaugh was chosen to receive a Who’s Who in Local Chapter FBLA Awards for exemplifying leadership qualities and making outstanding contributions to our local chapter.

Matthew Goninen was recognized as one of only a handful of individuals across the state for his completion of three of the four levels of the Business Achievement Awards: Contributor, Leader, and Advocate. The completion of the tasks to earn this recognition take dedication, attention to detail, and hard work! Congratulations, Matthew!

FBLA State Leadership Conference was a great learning experience for the Mineral Point chapter members. In addition to competitive events, our chapter members were able to take a college tour of UW-Green Bay, attend various workshops to develop leadership skills, and make lasting connections with 2600 fellow FBLA members from around the state.

Stay tuned for upcoming fundraising events to help support our FBLA National Leadership Conference participants as funds are not included in our FBLA annual budget for the cost of traveling to and participating in this event.  Please contact Kipalee Bakken at kipalee.bakken@mp.k12.wi.us if you have an interest in helping to raise funds for our future Mineral Point business leaders!
