The 2020 Mineral Point High School Forensics team was proud to host this year’s Subdistrict competition Monday, February 24.
All of the students who participated advanced to the District festival to be held Saturday, March 21 at UW-Platteville.
Students needed to score a 16 (or better) out of 25 possible points in a minimum of two of the three rounds in order to advance.
Once again this year, Mineral Point has a nearly full roster with 21 out of a maximum 25 allowable entries.
The students advancing, along with their categories, include:
Farrago: Gena Byrnes, Alana DuBois, and Owen Stephenson.
Group Interpretive Reading: Ella Chambers, Henry Dailey, Mallory Lindsey, Gabe Sporle, and Nolan Springer. Grady Gorgen, Gunnar Gorgen, Ian Keyes, Isaac Lindsey, and Liam Stumpf. Grant Lee, Daniel Nordstrom, Matthew Nordstrom, and Tyler Nordstrom.
Impromptu: Joey Robinson.
Play Acting: Grace Engels, Delaney Ross, Kennedy Smith, and Jayda Sudmeier.
Poetry: Sadie Owens, Cody Pierce, and Chloe Thomas.
Prose: Oliver Benson, Sophia Stephenson, Megan Toay, and Jenna Wedig.
Radio Speaking: Griffin Albaugh.
Solo Acting: Alexis Berget, Jazmine Cool, Callie Pierce, and Sage Shemak.
