Congratulations to the Mineral Point FFA Career Development teams that competed at State on April 26th at UW-Madison.

The Livestock Judging team of Ryan Schubert, Joey Robinson, Emma Steffes, and Kyle Vondra placed 2nd at the State FFA contest.  Individually, Ryan placed 8th, Emma 17th, Joey 18th and Kyle 22nd. This team continued the tradition of high expectations in livestock judging and high placing.  Mineral Point livestock judging has been 1st or 2nd at State at least 11 times in the past 19 years.

The Meats Judging team of Maggie Schubert, Danny Pittz, Logan Schmitz, and Morgan Vondra placed 7th at the State FFA contest.  This contest involves identifying cuts of meat and cooking method, grading meat, and giving reasons on a set of meat products.  Morgan led the way for the team placing 15th overall.

The Wildlife Team of Brett Roberts, Mason Hughes, Larry Steffes, and Kane Gunderson placed 22nd at State FFA, with Brett placing 5th individually at State.   This contest is based on wildlife identification and a test on wildlife knowledge. This is a very tightly scored contest with only a few points separating each team and individual.   The wildlife team has qualified four straight years in this event.
