Another Spring Trap Season has wrapped up with the Pointers placing well.

The State Meet was held Saturday, June 9 at Rome.

The Pointers placed 5th as a team (out of 71 teams) behind Denmark, Tomah, West Salem, and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah.

For high gun in the Varsity Male category, Joey Dolphin and Brody Lee tied for 36th, Owen Stephenson 50th and Uriah Ottoway tied for 50th, Braden Abney 66th, Jacob Moellers 121st, Brady Roberts 170th, Ryan Welsh 207th, Larry Steffes 228th, Bodhi Logueflower 332nd.

For high gun in the Junior Varsity Male category, Wyatt Evans placed 37th, Kyle Vondra 71st, Austin Heisner 176th, Hayden Bakken 326th.

For high gun in the Junior Varsity Female category, Martina Steffes placed 23rd, Emma Steffes 28th, Avrie Basye 31st.

For high gun in the Novice Male category, MacClain Busser was 60th, Brett Roberts 82nd, Max Murphy 99th.

Joey Dolphin, Jacob Moellers, and Owen Stephenson all hit 25 targets in a row to receive a special honor.

Being named to the All-State Team were Abney and Ottoway.

Conference Season

In the Class 1A Conference 6, Mineral Point finished in 4th place behind Siren, St. Croix Central, and Howards Grove.

Members of the Mineral Point team who hit 25 targets in a row during the conference season receive a special award. They include Braden Abney (four times), Joey Dolphin (twice), and Uriah Ottoway.

In Conference 6 for males, Abney placed 3rd and Uriah Ottoway 10th.

Abney is a student at Black Hawk High School and Welsh at Darlington, but compete on the Mineral Point team because their schools do not have trap teams.
