Another Spring Trap Season has wrapped up with the Pointers placing well.
The State Meet was held Saturday, June 10 at Rome.
The Pointers placed 3rd as a team (out of 52 teams) behind Boscobel and Denmark.
For high gun in the Varsity Male category, Braden Abney and Larry Steffes placed 8th, Garrett Faull 42nd, Uriah Ottoway 76th, Owen Stephenson 96th, Ryan Welsh 162nd, and Wyatt Evans 232nd.
For high gun in the Junior Varsity Male category, Brady Roberts placed 8th, Bodhi Logueflower 84th, Jacob Moellers 122nd, and Austin Heisner 143rd.
For high gun in the Junior Varsity Female category, Martina Steffes placed 21st.
For high gun in the Novice Female category, Avrie Basye placed 5th.
Abney and Larry Steffes both hit 25 targets in a row to receive a special honor.
Conference Season
In the Class A Conference 4, Mineral Point finished in 3rd place behind Sauk Prairie and Howards Grove.
Members of the Mineral Point team who hit 25 targets in a row during the conference season receive a special award. They include Braden Abney, Owen Stephenson, and Ryan Welsh.
Abney placed 14th overall among males in all conferences for the top season average.
In Conference 4 for males, Abney placed 1st, Uriah Ottoway 8th, Welsh 11th, and Stephenson 21st.
In Conference 4 for females, Martina Steffes was 4th.
Being named to the All-State Team were Abney, Ottoway, and Welsh.
Abney is a student at Black Hawk High School and Welsh at Darlington, but compete on the Mineral Point team because their schools do not have trap teams.
