Board Priorities
The Mineral Point Unified School District School Board engaged in a process to update goals and priorities. Though day-to-day priorities will continue, the school board will unite around key themes and strategies aimed at continuous improvement.

Grounded by our history, as one of the oldest publicly supported schools in Wisconsin, MPSD is the heart of a small community that educates and inspires our students for a bright future in a big world.

Board Priorities Revised
The group decided to create new action items that aligned with each of our current priorities, and assign them to their respective committees or the board as a whole:
A. Staff recruitment/retention

- Finalize and update staff compensation model (Finance)
- Review and update current process for onboarding new staff and retaining current staff members (Personnel)
B. Student/staff safety/belonging/wellness

- Explore ways to improve Food Service (Operations)
- Set goal to move toward a fully “scratch food” program
- Research grant opportunities to fund increased investments
- Goal for 26-27: Ensure that every high school student participates in at least one extracurricular activity (whole board)
- Work to find a solution for child care needs in MP (Operations)
- Develop a solution for space/staffing issues at elementary (Operations)
- Explore ways to improve Food Service (Operations)

- Set 26-27 year SMART goals for Academics, Finances, Staff in the following areas (whole board):
- Proficiency

- Finalize Strategic Plan (whole board)
