The Mineral Point School Board held its regular monthly meeting Monday, September 14.
— The Board unanimously approved (with Joni Heisner, Christie Johnston, and Justin Skelding absent) the consent agenda consisting of minutes, bills payable, credit card statement, and committee reports.

— The Board heard preliminary enrollment information from Superintendent Mitch Wainwright for the 2026-27 school year.
Last year at this time, the district was at 794 physical bodies in seats. This year, we are currently at 783.
The official 3rd Friday count will take place this Friday, September 18. The state aid is based on a three year rolling average.

— Superintendent Wainwright presented his monthly budget update.

— An update was provided regarding the Food Service Ad-Hoc Committee’s first meeting.

— The Board heard updates on the start of school year operations from Superintendent Wainwright.

— The Board heard an annual report from Options in Education Coordinator/Teacher Amanda Heisner. Options has just concluded its 10th year. This year, there are 28 students in the program with four coming from contracted districts.
Since the start of the program, there has been an increase in students who spend part of their day in a traditional educational setting and only come to Options for some of the day, not the whole day.

— The Board unanimously approved (with Johnston and Skelding absent) the Seclusion & Restraint Report, as required annually by law, and presented by Pupil Services Director Angela Klein.

— The Board unanimously approved (with Johnston and Skelding absent) renewing the Boys and Girls Cross Country, and Boys Soccer, co-op agreements with Dodgeville.

— The Board unanimously approved (with Johnston and Skelding absent) the updated compensation plan for support staff and salaried administrative assistants to begin July 1, 2027.
