The Mineral Point Kiwanis Club honored its October Students of the Month at its meeting Tuesday, October 7.

The students, who are members of the Senior class, are selected for this honor through a voting process by staff at the high school, and their biographies are written by themselves.

Your leadership and commitment to being a role model make a lasting impact on your peers and our community.” ~ Mr. Matt Austin, High School Principal

“I’ve had the pleasure of being Hudson’s teacher and FBLA advisor, where he currently serves as an officer. From day one, Hudson has been one of those students who remind you why teaching is such a rewarding job. He’s dependable, hardworking, and genuinely one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. What really stands out about Hudson is his character. He’s calm, positive, and always makes the people around him feel appreciated. He treats everyone with respect and carries himself with a quiet confidence that’s rare for someone his age. One of my favorite parts of the day is when Hudson pops into my room during my prep — sometimes just to say hi, other times to help organize things without even being asked. It’s such a small thing, but it says everything about who he is. Congrats on your nomination, Hud—you’ve totally earned it!” ~ Mrs. Valerie Martin, Middle/High School Business Teacher

His unwavering confidence in seeking clarification through questions has quickly established him as a leader in the classroom, always ready to tackle any challenge that comes his way. Beyond his academic achievements, Hudson also shines in athletics, where his calm demeanor on the football field, basketball court, and baseball diamond serves as an example for younger athletes striving to improve. Congratulations, Hudson!  Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off.” ~ Mrs. Michelle Rielly, Middle School English Teacher

“‘Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another.’ This quote captures the spirit of Hudson Schroeder, whose steady determination and positive attitude make him the successful young man he is. Hudson approaches every task with focus and engagement, always willing to give his best effort, no matter the challenge. His polite and kind nature makes him a joy to work with, and his readiness to lend a hand shows his genuine care for others. Whether in the classroom or beyond, Hudson’s perseverance and helpful spirit remind everyone that true success comes from consistency, kindness, and heart. The future holds great things for you, Sweet Boy!” ~ Mrs. Kristin Staver, High School Media Teacher

“I have been lucky enough to coach Grady and Hudson the last four years in baseball because both of them refuse to listen to me and go out for wrestling. Both are kind and outgoing young men that I have enjoyed working with over the years and I am excited to not only see what they do in their final year in school, but what they do after high school. I have been very lucky to be able to participate in a small part of their lives and I will miss being able to have conversations with them once they move on to bigger and better things in their lives.” ~ Mr. Curtis Fiedler, Middle School Special Education Teacher and Assistant Baseball Coach
