Region 3 WCASS Administrator Award Winner Angela Klein

Friday at CESA 3 in Fennimore, WCASS (Wisconsin Council of Administrators of Special Services) presented awards to various Region 3 special services personnel and Mineral Point was honored to receive two awards.
Joslen Buckingham received the Region 3 WCASS Student Ambassador Award. Mr. Justin Leonard nominated Josie for this award and shared that Josie moved into the Mineral Point Unified School District when she was a freshman.  She was shy, but always had a great smile.  She has since blossomed into a young woman that is very determined to do well.  She is loving and caring and has a big heart.  She is always looking to help her friends, family, and staff who are in need of help.  This year she took on a youth apprenticeship program at Mound City Bank.   Angie Reichling, MCB Manager, described Josie’s work as extraordinary because she does the ordinary.   She has taken the opportunities given to her through work experience and created a career.  Mr. Leonard and Mrs. Reichling were on hand to give Josie her award and shared that they are so proud of her accomplishments.
Angela Klein, Director of Special Education and Pupil Services, received the Region 3 Administrator Award.  The nomination form said, “She is the best ‘BOSS’ that I have ever had.  She truly cares about the people that she works with.  She is a strong communicator.  She picks you up when you are down and celebrates with you when you are up.  She is great at developing relationships and makes sure to foster a positive relationship with all of those she comes in contact with.  She does not micro manage, it is never about her, it is always about us and what makes Mineral Point great.  She is just a great person and that is absorbed by colleagues and students.  In addition to working at Mineral Point she teaches at UWP and runs a local Special Olympics program.  I should thank her every day for how great she has been to the Mineral Point community.”
Nominations were submitted by teachers, administrators, and special services personnel from all over CESA 3.  Winners were voted on by administrators in the CESA  3 region.
