Jenny Singer

5th Grade Teacher

Hometown: Dodgeville

High school graduated from: Dodgeville

College: Jenny earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in May 2018.

Previous experience:  Jenny completed her Student Teaching at Mineral Point Elementary this past semester under the guidance of Lynn Ross in 4th grade and Susan Kelm in 2nd grade.

Hobbies/Free time interests: I have a wonderful family that I love spending time with. Together we enjoy playing board games, going to Badger sporting events, fishing, or spending time at our cabin on the Mississippi River. I love to read and play the piano, too. Ultimately, time spent together with family and friends is my favorite!

What are your initial impressions of your time in #PointerNation?: When I walked through the door on my first day as a student teacher, I knew I was where I wanted to be. The environment at this school is unlike any other. Your dedicated staff, community engagement, and eager students are what make me most proud to be a Pointer. I cannot wait for the opportunities ahead of me in #PointerNation.

Quotable:  I have found that my favorite moments in teaching are those that I did not expect. Yes, the “ah-ha” lightbulb moments are amazing and bring me so much joy, but even more rewarding is watching a child grow knowing that I am an integral part of their journey. I once had a child tell me in my student teaching placement that, “kindness doesn’t cost us anything.” Moments such as these are what make this profession most rewarding. I feel empowered when I consider shaping our future and will continuously strive to better myself for my students. It is my goal to foster lifelong, passionate learners while serving as an advocate for their futures. The joy education has brought me leaves me so excited for what is to come. This is my calling and I am thrilled to be joining the #PointerNation family.
