On February 24 in DeForest, the Department of Public Instruction is convening a Library Media Specialist (LMS) Content Guidelines Work Group with participants that are LMS PK-12 practitioners, LMS educator preparation program providers, and professional organization representatives in Wisconsin. The content guidelines are used by all of the educator preparation programs to prepare Library Media Specialists for Wisconsin’s schools.
Kris McCoy, middle/high school Instructional Technology & Information Specialist, has been nominated and selected for participation in the group.
The overall purpose of this work is to develop a revised set of Licensure Program Content Guidelines for Wisconsin educator preparation programs to use for preparing Library Media Specialists. The current guidelines were written in 2000. Some preliminary work has already been done by a small LMS leadership group. Now, a larger group is being brought together to draft the revised content guidelines.
