The competitive public speaking season wrapped up this past weekend. Congratulations to our state forensics participants!
Students ventured to UW-Madison Friday evening for competition.
Earning bronze (23 points and below) medals were: McKenzie Schmitz, Moments in History; Valya MacGilvra, Farrago; and Trevor Ross, Four Minute Speech.
Silver (23-24 points): Fran Hagen, Poetry; Hannah Owens, Farrago; Danielle Blum, Farrago; Tommie Loken, Oratory; Abby Dunbar, Four Minute Speech; Morgan Fitzsimmons, Poetry; Haley Chubb and Natalie Chubb, Play Acting.
Gold (25 points): Madison Bowers, Solo Acting; Lizzy Moellers, Solo Acting; Matt Neal, Solo Acting; Addison Dailey, Jaynie Gorgen, Destinee Kruser, Grant Rose, Sydney Staver, Group Interpretive Reading; Matt Doney, Joey Gorgen, Turner Poad, Alec Schmitz, Sy Staver, Group Interpretive Reading.
The group of Doney, Gorgen, Poad, Schmitz, and Staver earned their fourth straight state gold medal, which is an extremely difficult task to achieve. Only 22 students in the entire state accomplished this milestone last year.
