The Mineral Point School board held its regular monthly meeting Monday and discussed how to proceed with the business office.
Head Bookkeeper Marsha Kjelland retired at the end of the 2021-22 school year. Assistant Bookkeeper Renee Rolli has since moved into that role, but has submitted her resignation. Angela Bremmer was hired in June as the new Assistant Bookkeeper.
The Board discussed whether to post for a Bookkeeper or a Business Manager.
By a 6-1 vote (with Andy Busch voting no), the Board voted to post for a School Business Manager/Bookkeeper with the intent to become a School Business Manager. If the individual hired is not already a School Business Manager, the district would financially support that individual getting certified, provided he/she stays in the district for a set period of time. The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials is able to provide interim support until someone is hired.
