The 4th of July is a time to celebrate.  It makes me think about all of the people that have worked hard and sacrificed to get us where we are today.  Some men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice and should not be forgotten. Our freedoms should not be taken lightly.  As we enjoy all that we have on a grand scale, we can also be thankful and celebrate things closer to home.

The weather may not cooperate, but we can celebrate coming together as a community at this time of the year.  People will travel from all over to watch the parade down High Street. They will see friends they haven’t seen in a long time and reconnect.  Think of the family, friends, and neighbors that you see attending the parade, games at the ballpark, cookouts, and fireworks during the 4th. It is a time to relax and enjoy what makes Mineral Point a great place.  We can all celebrate together because that’s what families do!

I’m proud of our school district, community, and the farms that make up who we are.  All of the hardworking people that continue to support every effort to educate all of our students are worth celebrating.  We will continue to do our very best and provide the highest quality education possible.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
