At a special meeting held by the School Board Tuesday, December 18, the Board voted 6-0 (with Andy Busch absent) to approve, pending reference checks, HSR as the architect for an elementary building project. Interim Superintendent Mitch Wainwright confirmed Friday HSR passed reference checks and will be the architect.

There were three finalists brought in for interviews Tuesday–HSR of La Crosse, Dimension IV of Madison, and FEH of Dubuque.

FEH was the architect used leading up to the successful referendum vote in November for an elementary renovation/addition.

At Monday, December 17th’s meeting, the Board decided to draft resolution language for a second referendum April 2 that would ask the public’s permission to build a new elementary building, instead of renovating the existing one.

If the April referendum fails, the Board would fall back on the successful referendum vote in November for a renovation/addition to the existing building.

Either project would now use HSR as the architect.
