Mineral Point Elementary 5th grade teacher, Lifka Bennett, has been honored by Ubersox of Iowa County and WOLX 94.9 FM as the July Teacher of the Month.
Bennett can be seen driving a Chrysler 200 during the month of July displaying her honor. Also, she will receive a $200 donation for her classroom. Tune in and listen for her radio spot as she was interviewed Monday.
She was nominated for the award by Emily Graber. Her mother, Beth, assisted her with the application process and noted the following about Lifka: “Lifka would send daily pictures of the students and their activities to parents in emails. Most caring and compassionate teacher. Goes above and beyond the call of duty as a teacher by setting up grounds cleanup at Shake Rag Alley, heading up Helping Hands letters to the Wisconsin State Journal, and organizing a Victorian Christmas for the students. Taking time to work with the students individually when they are struggling. Always there for them to address questions and concerns. Please choose Lifka because she is a very deserving, dedicated teacher.”
