Bridget Tippett

Instructional Assistant

Hometown: Darlington

High School: Darlington

College: She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Loras College and her Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, as well as earn her Reading license. She also completed courses at Viterbo to earn her Reading Specialist degree.

Previous employment: Prior to Mineral Point, she worked in Belmont as a Title I teacher, as well as a middle school reading teacher. She has also been employed in the Benton School District, as well as at St. Maria Goretti School in Madison.

Hobbies/Free time interests: I enjoy reading, going for walks, baking, hanging out with my friends and family.

Spouse/children names?: Husband Dan, son Jack (age 6), daughter Tatum (age 4)

What attracted you to apply at MP Schools?: I have always heard great things about your school district. From my daughter, Tatum, being a student at Mineral Point, I have been even more impressed with what I have learned about your school. I have friends and acquaintances who work for the district and they have only had positive comments to say.

Initial first impressions of MP Schools?: I am impressed with the following about Mineral Point Schools: a Five Star Rating from the DPI on its State Report Card, an opportunity for teachers to collaborate through PLCs, an opportunity for teachers to co-teach, a high rate of success in and out of the classroom whether it be in academics, community involvement, or sports, and a balanced literacy approach. I am also impressed with the services offered for students of varying needs.

It is an honor to teach your students, work with your staff, and serve a district who is up to date on the changing technology, curriculum, and providing students with opportunities for growth in all areas. I have talked to staff and community members about their favorite thing about MP Schools and this comment was repeated: “We truly strive to meet the needs of the students and get the best from them and we as teachers give it our best every day. MP has a great sense of pride both within the school and community.”

Quotable: I am interested in this position because I know the greatness that comes from MP Schools. While I have been a classroom teacher for 14 years, I am looking for a change in my career. Working at a school where I can grow professionally and be a part of an award winning school where student learning and their achievements and success is a priority, would be an honor. I want to belong in a district whose staff is constantly collaborating with each other and their community. It would be a privilege to work with students of varying needs.

My ability to interact and communicate with others has grown into a strong skill of mine. Being a classroom teacher and reading specialist, I have to communicate with students, parents, staff, administration and community members on a daily basis. My willingness to learn from others (both young and old and experienced and new) is something I take pride in as I collaborate with others. Communication in any situation is a key component to achievement and success. I am a team player and believe communication is a crucial part of problem solving.
