An exciting next step has taken place with the Mineral Point Stadium Project.

A purchase order was submitted in the amount of $201,500 for bleachers at the new field, which will be installed this coming Spring 2017.

Many things combined to make this next step possible including: nearly 100 seat engravings purchased, large corporation donations from Southwest Health and Dean, as well as numerous local pledges.

The bleacher installation makes possible the potential of playing soccer on the field in the spring, as well as the option of playing home football in the fall of 2017 on early afternoons and/or Saturdays, pending the installation of a press box.

In addition to the bleachers, the following components of the project have been completed to date: electrical transformer and service connections; light pole bases; scoreboard; blasting for and installation of sewer and water lines; plumbing; irrigation; goal posts; flagpole; bleacher footings; paving parking lot and bleachers pad; site work to include concrete curb, sidewalk, walls, stairs, re-grading of field; and survey and engineer design required for a state submittal.

The project is still fundraising for a press box and engineered platform ($74,900), fencing ($21,000), lights ($150,000), and a locally built concession stand.

The overwhelming majority of the project is being funded using private funds. However, the school district recognizes ownership in the current stadium and the related routine maintenance required.
