Morgan Burris, Pre K and Early Childhood teacher, was named this month’s Grand Apple Winner at Mineral Point Elementary.

Congratulations to Morgan Burris, Pre K and Early Childhood teacher, for being this month’s Grand Apple Winner at Mineral Point Elementary.

“Morgan is a fabulous teaching partner,” said Laura Busch. “She values children for exactly WHO they are and teaches according to their needs. She makes each child feel like the special little person they are and they feel valued and important in her classroom. I am fortunate to teach with Morgan and am thankful for the dedicated way that she teaches ALL children–she has taught two of our own children and they each loved having her as a teacher. They learned and grew so much during their time with Morgan, and teaching right next door, I was fortunate to witness the way that she treated them and their classmates–with kindness, respect, and a true belief that they could learn and do anything they wanted to set as goals for themselves! MP is fortunate to have Morgan teaching here and I am fortunate to be teaching with her each day!”

“At a recent training, we learned about research that academic achievement is traced to: 6% to teaching techniques and lesson preparation; 16% to factors over which the school has no control; and 78% to quality of human interaction in the school (relationships). I mentioned at the staff meeting that Morgan does a great job cultivating relationships with both students and staff, thus having a great impact on how students feel about school and their academic achievement, as this research suggests,” added Busch.
